David A. Crenshaw, PhD, ABPP, RPT-S, is Chief of Clinical Services at the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie. Dr. Crenshaw is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, a Fellow of the APA Division of Child and Adolescent Psychology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. He previously taught play therapy courses at Johns Hopkins, and Columbia University, a past President of the NY Association for Play Therapy, and supervised over 100 doctoral and master’s level interns over a 52 year career. He is the author, co-author, editor or co-editor of 18 books and three books of poetry, author or co-author of more than a hundred journal articles and book chapters on the topics of child and adolescent therapy, child trauma and abuse, resilience, play therapy and family therapy.
